HybridIRC IRC Network: Rules and Regulations

The following document outlines the rules and regulations for acceptable use on the HybridIRC IRC Network. While connected to any HybridIRC server, you are required to adhere to these rules. Consequences for violating these rules are detailed in Section Three (3).

1) Rules

By connecting to any HybridIRC server, you agree to comply with the following rules:

  • No Denial of Service (DoS) or Abuse: Actions such as flooding, cloning, mass-messaging, and mass-inviting that abuse HybridIRC resources are strictly prohibited.
  • No Unsolicited Advertising: Sending unsolicited advertisements to HybridIRC users is not allowed.
  • Administrative Rights: Each server’s administrative team reserves the right to deny access or use of its resources to any user, group, site, or domain without prior notice.
  • Compliance with Server Guidelines: You must follow any additional guidelines stated in the MOTD of the server to which you are connected.

By using any HybridIRC server, you agree to abide by the Acceptable Use Policy and the policies outlined in each server’s Message of the Day (MOTD). Your compliance with these regulations is greatly appreciated.

2) Disclaimer

HybridIRC administration does not log or monitor any content passing through its servers. By maintaining a connection to any part of the HybridIRC network, you acknowledge and agree to comply with these rules, as well as any future terms of service, network policies, and user guidelines.

  • No Liability: HybridIRC administrators are not responsible for computer damage, data loss, or any other related issues arising from the use of HybridIRC servers. By using the network, you release HybridIRC, its servers, administrators, and volunteers from all liability.
  • Right to Deny Access: HybridIRC administrators may deny access to any user, group, site, or domain without prior notice, including access to network resources such as channel services, mailing lists, and FTP sites.

As a guest on the HybridIRC network, you are expected to conduct yourself appropriately at all times.

3) Consequences for Violation

Violating any rule or regulation outlined in this document or on any HybridIRC server’s MOTD will result in disciplinary actions, which may include:

  • Access Denial: You may be denied access to a specific HybridIRC server or the entire network at the discretion of the server administrator.
  • Legal Action: HybridIRC IRC Network prohibits illegal activities. Verified incidents may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
  • Law Enforcement Cooperation: While HybridIRC is an unmoderated forum, the administration will cooperate with law enforcement when legally required.

4) Appealing a Violation

If you are banned or denied access to a HybridIRC server or the entire network, follow the procedures below:

  • Z:lined (Server Ban): Contact the server administration (use /admin to display the contact email) and request the ban’s removal, explaining how future incidents will be avoided.
  • G:lined (Network Ban): Email the network administration at [email protected] to request the ban’s removal, explaining your corrective actions.
  • Regional Restrictions: Certain servers may restrict access based on geographical location. These bans are non-negotiable. If your ISP is banned, contact your ISP administrator to address the issue with HybridIRC administrators directly.
